I had trouble turning over in bed and getting up in the morning . I would start with stretching and just doing "laps" around the house, heat pack, and repeat.... it took an hour to get warmed up to do my regular exercise (dance class, yoga). As one of my physical therapists said to me, "Motion is lotion" - being stationary was not my friend - even sitting in the car for 30 minutes hurt me> I would have to stop and stretch my back. I found that leaning over the trunk and stretching was good. If home, I used a physioball or my desk to give my back a good stretch. I did acupuncture for a while. Although I'm off statins, I still have a cranky low back, however, I don't need an hour in the morning to warm up, and I can drive a few hours without an issue. Good luck -keep moving.
