Thank you for your message. I hope you and your father continue to beat the beast. I have stage 4 PCa with metastases in bones, liver, and many other places. I have been getting lupron injections for nearly 5 years. Your message helped me in two specific ways. First, I was not aware that lupron is processed by the liver. My liver is under attack, so I need to reduce the stress on it. One way might be to eliminate lupron from my diet. Second, I was delighted to learn that your father's orchiectomy was so successful. I intend to have the procedure as soon as possible, and your dad's success is very encouraging.
You may already be aware that testosterone is also produced by adrenal glands and the cancer cells. Perhaps your father will eventually need some kind of chemical treatment if his PSA rises too rapidly.

Lupron is not processed by the liver's cytochrome P450 system, but it can affect the liver and may cause liver test abnormalities. Instead of being metabolized by the liver, it is broken down locally in many tissues and primarily by peptidases in the systemic circulation.

Liver effects: Despite not being processed by the liver, Lupron therapy can cause liver test abnormalities. These can sometimes be linked to weight gain or other metabolic changes, such as nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), which can arise from the low-testosterone state induced by the drug. This would cause the same problem with any ADT drugs.

On the other hand Orgovyx Is processed by the liver.

You should speak to your doctor about this before stopping Lupron.
