Have you decided on who you will use? I’ve been considering having a Dr. McCormick consultation and my curious if you’ve done any consultations yet?

@izziesue I've consulted with him a few times. What I like about him is that he does not always jump to "you need medication." He's also good at checking all the various things that could possibly be contributing to osteoporosis.

Before the initial consultation, he is going to want copies of your DEXA and all your bloodwork. He will also suggest a number of blood and urine tests. Note that if you are in New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut, he cannot prescribe lab tests in those states, so you would have to get another doctor to do so.

I had one consultation with Dr McCormick, so far. I found it very informative. He went over all test results in away that my other Drs have not. He pointed out the RA factor on my blood work that is a likely a contributing factor to my bone loss. We discussed medication options, pro and con. He suggest 2 more simple tests that will provide more information about my specific bone loss problem. He gave me lots of info that I can use to more proactively communicate with my local Drs. All and all well worth the time and money.

@izziesue Hi! I plan on meeting with Dr McCormick. I have reached out to his office already. I am gathering all the data he needs, which is taking awhile to get from my primary physician and my endocrinologist.
