I got my free covid and flu boosters yesterday. I wish the covid shot actually *did* fight prostate cancer, because it would help make up for how crappy I feel today (like I used to feel after my monthly Firmagon shot before switching to daily Orgovyx pills, except without the abdominal swelling).

No regrets, though. Prostate cancer and spinal damage are more than enough to deal with: no need to add being on a ventilator for a severe covid infection to my bingo card. 😕

@northoftheborder Well, one never stops hoping. News just came out that Shingrix Shingles vaccine may protect against vascular dementia, blood clots and stroke.
It was based on a large number of people across a wide spectrum.
Again, inhibition of inflammation caused by the virus is believed to be the mechanism of action.
Even better, the protection offered is for life.

@northoftheborder p.s. I feel much better today — it was just one crappy day after the double seasonal vax.

Even if I didn't need the shots for my own sake, I feel good knowing I'm much less likely to infect vulnerable people as an asymptotic carrier this winter.
