How long does Reclast remain in your system?
I received the Reclast infusion 4 mo. ago. I experienced mild fatigue and headache afterwards, but overall did pretty well. However, about a month later, I started experiencing back pain that was so bad it hurt to ride in the car. Aleve helped a little, but I could barely walk when I got out of the vehicle. The ability to walk improved with movement. After a month or so, the back pain subsided, but then the foot pain began and is continuing to be a problem. After sitting for a bit, it is painful to walk. Again, it gets better with movement. After x-rays showed no visible problems with my feet, the podiatrist believes the pain is a side effect from Reclast.
I have also gained about 8 pounds since the infusion even though my eating and exercise habits remain the same. Has anyone else experienced weight gain?
How long does it take for Reclast to get out of the system?
How long do these long-term side effects last?
Will my body return to its normal weight when the medicine is out of my system?

I was having pain in my left arm which is arm my Reclast infusion was done. It has gotten better on its own but my doctor did send me for P T and my therapist said I had some arthritis in that arm. I thought that was odd but anyway his treatments have helped. So did Reclast cause the arthritis, I will never know.
Reclastdid cause it..you are not alone

there are scattered cases in the literature of this rare response. I wonder if many cases are unrecognized.
@kaybollinger79 it is funny that you say this. My endocrinologist suggested I see a rheumatologist who now says I have arthritis in both shoulders and my left foot; something that came about the day after my infusion. Now they are suggesting more Reclast and for me to see an orthopedic specialist…..do you see a pattern developing here? I do, “ I’m not sure what is going on so I’ll send you here, no concrete evidence so send me to someone else. I am currently going to cancel my next scheduled appointment with neurologist, Rheumatologist and Endocrinologist. I am starting to feel myself being tossed from one to another and to another with the exception of endocrinologist who strongly recommends that I continue treatment for my bone density. This constant pain has become a little more tolerable having had it now for better than 16 months. I ask myself if I am willing to have more treatment with the potential for more aches and pains that can be life lived; no! It’s my understanding that I could experience a fractured bone at some point. Hell, I don’t plan on living another 50 years and in what time I have do left I don’t want to be in constant pain from some unknown reason and it is easy to just blame it on arthritis. Honestly, I had no pain in my arms or left foot until the day after the infusion. I’m told, only 1 in a million people can have negative symptoms following the infusion and I must of been the lucky person. I honestly don’t know what to do about this but I do know that I am not going to just keep lining someone else’s pockets while draining mine!

I have shared this before, hope it is ok to repost!
If you feel that you are suffering from these medications long term to report that to FDA.
For on-line reporting to FDA: https://www.fda.gov/safety/medwatch-fda-safety-information-and-adverse-event-reporting-program
For phone reporting: 1-800-FDA-1088.
There is a lot of information online on Reclast side effects- drugs.com, the FDA and Pfizer's own drug insert: https://labeling.pfizer.com/ShowLabeling.aspx?format=PDF&id=4676
In addition to the brief info below, Pfizer has a thorough chart with every side effect and frequency reported. Not sure why doctors don't look at this.
