This is the best explanation I have heard - I also did the holter monitor and nothing showed up when I was experiencing what I call palpitations. Docs have no idea what it really is

"Although the heart itself does not typically vibrate in the way a muscle might, the mechanical forces generated during heart contractions can produce measurable vibrations that propagate through the chest wall.
These vibrations are normally not felt, but heightened sensitivity due to anxiety or other conditions can make them perceptible."

@that is fascinatin cuz i often thought it was my heart vibrating. I am currently in a pain mngmt program. About controlling the sensations thru mind control and stimulating the parasympathetic system. I do yoga. I meditate. I keep my world small but not isolated and i can not control the vibrating. My heart and breath yes!! I have also pondered the idea could it be inner shingles on the lining of my abdomen. It kinda feels like the vibrating i used to get on my lips hours before a cold sore would break out. But on a much larger area and more intense. My PT at neuro institute thought it could be the heart. The intensity does increase with stress or intense emotions but it has started out of the blue when i am so relaxed and feeling joy. Then im like man!!! Not fair when ur trying so hard to stay peaceful.
