Sleeping does help give one a break when feeling depressed
but you are smart in wanting to fill your day with something meaningful.
All the suggestions above help.
I read mysteries, what they call "cozy mysteries."
Your local library probably has a delivery service; check on it.
A book will take you somewhere else for awhile. Good luck.

@kayraymat and if you have a library card, most libraries have Libby and hoopla which have audiobooks and e-books and magazines and other things that you can just download to your phone or iPad or Kindle. There is a wealth out there,
