Inflammatory Neuropathy/Diabetic amyotrophy
Above are my diagnoses so far; does anyone have any experience with treatments for reversing the pain, tingling/noumbness and weekness associated with these auto immune diseases or managing them? I am new to this board.

Hello @suziep, welcome to Connect. Thank you for sharing the diagnoses you are facing with the other members on Connect. In my initial research on inflammatory neuropathy, I found that it lives within the chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP) group, does this sound true to you?
If so, I think there are a few discussions taking place on Connect in other groups that may be worth your time to check out. Here are a few:
- Has anyone on this feed been diagnosed with CIDP? http://mayocl.in/2m6rsMw
- Anyone here dealing with peripheral neuropathy? http://mayocl.in/2aWCYXq (may not be the same type but it is an extensive conversation on how people live and cope with a type of neuropathy)

@suziep, what sort of pain are you experiencing with your diagnoses? Where is your tingling and numbness? And, has your diagnosing physician prescribed any pain remedies?
I'm new too. My pain came first in a grocery store. I figured my shoe laces were too tight. A couple of years later it became a real problem with pain in my ankles and feet. Cramps were terrible. BUT, only two things happened before the pain. 1) Grocery shopping for longer than a 1/2 hour. My new shoes helped. 2) Alcohol. I sat down for a small glass of wine and that nite in bed I thought I was going to die from the pain in my ankles. I am not diabetic, but apparently pre-diabetic. Had to give the wine away.
What helps. I take magnesium capsule before going to the grocery store. I also take a capsule in the morning and again at bedtime. I take potassium in the morning, too. It definitely helps me.
Hello @saraabrooks, I see that you recently joined Connect and would like to welcome you. I'm not sure how many people are following this discussion since it's from 2017 and the member who started the discussion has not posted any follow up. I also have been labeled pre-diabetic for most of my adult life but made some lifestyle changes the past few years to try and improve my health. I don't have the neuropathy pain but just the numbness.

Your comments from January 30th were enlightening. I just now found your email reply. There was certainly a flurry of activities for a while. I have not had any neuropathy for the last week. I have turned to swimming. Minimum of 20 minutes three times a week. I have not had any problems with my ankles and feet since then and I actually went to bed the other night without socks. That, my dear, is Monumental to me. Going to bed without socks. My feet would go numb and tingle and then I would have cramps. Movement has helped me tremendously. I'm not new to it but I've had a real bad 6 months and I left a lot of exercising behind. But I am back! And I feel great and I know it's because I am swimming.
