Happy Day.
I have been depressed forever it seems.
I’m now 76, live alone, partially disabled, and currently have new things I explore daily.
During the last 5 years I have learned how to slop paint on paper, spread it around and call it art.
I never did anything like that before. My stuff is just mine but doing it makes me happy.
I watch instructional video on YouTube about all kinds of things. It makes me excited to learn something new.
Jigsaw puzzles. Again, I never did them before, but now I have a puzzle on my table and work on it while I eat.
There are always chores to do. I use my fun things as an incentive for me to clean.
Gratitude lists are a way to keep depression down.
I have Bi-Polar II, and generalized anxiety.
I have been taking Zoloft, and Lamotrigine for years.
Hope you can look into the mirror and smile at yourself. Lifting your cheeks up releases a feel good hormone.
@SusanEllen66 Try reading. I started reading after my wife passed away and I have become a voracious reader. I rarely if ever watch TV anymore and realize what a waste of time it was for so long.
Working out whether water walking, long walks or going to the gym make you feel good.
I still take my antidepressants but reading and exercise makes for a great life.
Good luck to all of you.
