@celia16 hi! Can you please help me with more information on how to manage your diabetes. I’m type 2 and have chronic yeast infections all the time but I know I have uncontrolled sugar levels I eat very bad and don’t take my medication like insulin and metformin….please encourage me with any experience on how to start to discipline yourself

@mslupitastca , hi, yes I would love to encourage you! Managing blood sugar levels is extremely challenging, imo. I’ve been trying for many years. We do the best we can. Of course, I’m type 1 and can’t really address type 2 treatments, but I’ll share what I do know.

For me, getting care from an Endocrinologist and a primary is important. My Endo has nutritionist in their office, so I can review my diet and confirm my protein, carbs and fats are in the right proportions. A gym membership has been vital for me. Feeling better will encourage you even more.

In my case, one day I got this incredible inspiration. I gained an epiphany while on a retreat to a beautiful mountain/lake resort with friends Something changed inside of me. I listened to music, shared fellowship with longtime friends, enjoyed nature….just felt an incredible internal transformation about my life, health and fitness. When I returned home my life changed….met with doctors, nutritionist, trainers, therapist…….

In about a year, I had lost almost 100 pounds and brought my a1c to good levels. ( 6 range) I give much credit to my insulin pump and cgm.

Some type 2’s take meds like Ozempic which helps them tremendously! I have a friend who takes it and is no longer in the diabetic range. And, she lost a lot of weight too.

Everyone is different, but I feel there are many tools that can help with management. I’d suggest you check the TCOYD website. They offer a lot of info, support and entertainment. Good luck with everything. Please post how you’re doing.
