I chose not to get the AUS due to complications (Urethral stricture). I couldn’t be more pleased with a $39 incontinence clamp. Does not hurt when sitting on hard surfaces as many AUS users have reported. Can do anything while wearing it. Seldom remember it’s even there. No chance of malfunctioning necessitating surgical replacement like an AUS. I recommend giving it a try before committing to an AUS. After trying several, I settled on the Weisner Clamp bought on Amazon).

@lsk1000 Thanks for your reply. My husband has used a clamp for 20 years successfully - however this time he didnt keep a good eye on placement and it caused an ulcer which has taken over 2 mos. to heal, hence the foley catheter. Glad the clamp works well for you but keep your eye on placement etc as things can go wrong.

I have used the Weisner clamp for a few years. As you mentioned, when it’s on, I really don’t feel it, unless it’s been on for more than a couple of hours. You do make sure to not wear it for more than two hours without repositioning it.

People have reported some serious problems from leaving a clamp on too long.
