Thanks Sarah. Yes this is all accurate and I understand. Brinsupri is not on any formularies and as such you can only get it by an exception in which your Dr submits a PA to your prescription drug plan. The prescription drug plan can either approve it or not approve it. So since I do not have a Part D prescription drug plan as yet, my Dr cannot submit the PA for Brinsupri. I want to sign up for a Part D plan that might give me the best chance of getting it approved. Hope this all makes sense. I would be happy to explain more if I can. Thanks for your help.

@sarahlynn1960 When my doctor asked me if I would like to go on Brinsupri he said let me know and I'll see if I can get it for you. So I presume in all cases the doctor has to go above and beyond to get the prescription covered by Medicare. I see him in December and I'll report what he tells me as I now feel I would like to try it but not at the listed price.
