@dragonfire you are trying your best and that is all we can do. You are taking positive steps with these changes, concentrating on work, and focusing on the future. Imagine what your first "real food" experience will be, as then you will be seeing actual progress.
And as a retired veterinarian, I can guarantee that you didn't "fail" at saving your dog. You did everything possible to save him but it was not meant to be. His time had come to say goodbye and thank you for all the years of care and love that you two shared. May the joy you shared with him remain in your heart forever and give you strength.

@sepdvm

I have been in discussions with the social worker on my care team. She believes I am doing all I can right now and my frustrations are justified. She liked hearing I joined this support group and changed my diet more.

My first food will be tacos when I am done with this hell I hope soon.

I appreciate your comments on my dog he was my number 1 I loved him so very much. I touch his urn every day that was 7 months ago and still brings tears to my eyes losing him. I miss his daily comfort especially when I was sick he was aways there. Now going through this living hell without him even more difficult.

My health team says I will continue to improve but it is so slow and my condition changes each day.

I have told my friends had I really known this in the beginning I NEVER would have gone through it even if I died. This has impacted every aspect of my daily life. If I was not working a few hours everyday I would lose my mind.

I appreciate all your thoughts please keep me in your prayers I will take all I can get.
