Have you had a MRI of your cervical spine (orthopedic spine specialist) and EMG/nerve conduction study (neurologist) to see what is causing your numbness in your hands? Taking OTC medication or supplements won’t relieve this.
Have you had bloodwork to see if you have any vitamin deficiencies or toxicities or diabetes behind your symptoms? Have you seen a neurologist? You could also have carpal tunnel syndrome nerve compression.
Hello @fetz0902, I would like to add my welcome to Connect along with @dlydailyhope and others. I have idiopathic small fiber neuropathy but only have numbness and some tingling for symptoms in my feet. I also have carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands along with degenerative disc disease. The carpal tunnel does give me some pain and tingling in my hands, the left hand more than the right. I rub a little Voltaren gel on my hands which gives me some relief.
Have you been diagnosed with neuropathy? Are you on any medications to treat the neuropathy?
I've had 3 carpal tunnel surgeries, twice on my right hand because the first procedure didn't work. It ended up making my thumb and index fingers permanently numb the first time, and a second procedure by a neurosurgeon failed to improve it.
I have a hard time picking up or holding small objects, or even pulling a paper towel off of the roll.
It can be maddening at times. ALA, alpha lipoic acid can help dull the pain in someone's feet, but with your hands? I don't know. Have you been seen by a neurologist?
I have periferral neuropathy in feet, with tingling, numbness but only occasional pain. I've tried a lot of different salves, lotions, etc. but only had results so far with-
Lif-flow magnesium lotion after shower
Annando CBD salve for when I have the occasional shooting pain
And just got Tommy Copper compression socks - they are the greatest and make my feet feel normal. They are so comfortable and make my legs feel wonderful and the pressure in my big toe and tingling go away all day. Got them on sale on QVC - got 6 pair for $29 and they're usually $70, a great deal. They also come in wide - WOTC, that I got.
I also started to take Pure brand Magnesium - started with 125mg because I'm very sensitive to everything. Pleasant surprise - I take one a couple hours before bed and it's very relaxing and I also sleep all night, which never happened before. You may need higher than 125mg if you're not so sensative.
Hope some of this helps everyone.
