How does everyone cope on a daily basis??
Some days the pain is so bad I want to cut off my feet and hands. Sometimes I cry, sometimes I deal, sometimes I wish I wasn't here anymore so I wouldn't have to deal. I've tried meditation, Qigong, feet exercises, nothing ever works or even lessens the pain. I pray, but I don't God is listening anymore. I'm just curious what you all do to cope if/when you have days when you feel this way? Sorry to be a downer. Thanks for listening.

I myself have only been battling the idiopathic neuropathy in both feet for 3 years. Now 66. I was at a point where, wearing socks was a problem. With an RA diagnosis at the same time, just assumed RA meds would take care of it. Well not at all. Did the injection in lower back, no help. Did laser treatment on both feet which helped somewhat. Now on Gabapenten which dulls the pain, and I’ve found Voltaren twice a day really helps. But toes still tingling and feel fat but can wear socks and pain is much more manageable. Also varying shoes occasionally helps, Just keep trying and reading and looking for answers. I have a list of questions for RA doctor I’ve found thru reading comments here. Thank You All. It helps to know we’re not alone.
honestly, at 81, my biggest help is a spiritual one. Life was not intended to be this way. God has a purpose but also a time for correcting our sad situation. JW.org has so much mental and spiritual help
I too have Severe Peripheral Neuropathy with no pain. My feet are numb, I cannot feel the floor which causes balance issues, dizziness and falls. Several Neurologists later I had EMG/NCV testing, brain MRI (yes I have one). I finally had a Lumbar Puncture confirming high protein levels in my CSF and a diagnosis of CIDP, Chronic Inflammatory, Demylinating Polyneuropathy. A mouthful for sure. Getting ready to start a new medication, weekly injections of Vyvgart Hytrulo. Fingers crossed, a lot of hope and prayers for relief. Sometimes these medical problems are a journey. Unfortunately 50% of the doctors out there graduated in the bottom of their class. Keep trying to find your path.
I’m without pain too Mike. I have numbness in my feet and weakness in my legs. PN does whatever it wants to. I take zero medication. I go to the gym and do leg and calf presses along with other exercises and I have zero changes in my legs. There’s a lot of medical reports that Cholesterol Drugs cause Type 2 diabetes and that caused damage to the nerves in the lower body and bingo, we get PN. There will never be a cure. I had to quit my job years ago as I didn’t have enough strength to get the brakes down hard enough and when you’re landing on a 6000 ft runway at 120kts, you have to get it stopped. Stay safe.

Sorry to hear about your struggles. Guess that’s why we are here. Yes, as soon as as you say you have Neuropathy in your feet, they assume you are diabetic. Well I’m not… read up on CIDP and if it sounds like symptoms you have, tell your doctor (Neurologist you want to be tested for it. Good luck!
@mikeyindiana thank you. So far I've just had
