What problems have you had with Tamoxifen?

I started taking Tamoxifen in 2018 (ER+ positive, stage 2. Lumpectomy, Chemo and radiation, post menopausal). Tamoxifen and severe hot flushes have been my main complaint. I was put on 600mg Gabapentin to help with the hot flushes. This year I had my bloods and all my Lipids are up. In 2024 my readings were Cholesterol 3.9; Triglyceride 1.8; HDL 1.1; Chol/HDL 3.5; LDL 2.0 and non HDL 2.8. This year 2025 my readings are Cholesterol 6.1 (H); Triglyceride 10.4 (h); HDL 0.7; Chol/HDL 8.7 (H); LDL invalid as the Triglyceride to high and Non HDL 5.4 (H). No change to diet or exercise. The only thing I could find is that Tamoxifen may cause this. Has anyone else had this problem?

@jochurch, I found this systemic review that looked at a number of studies about tamoxifen and cholesterol (lipids).

- The effect of tamoxifen on the lipid profile in women: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0531556521004629

Did you talk to your oncologist about this rise in your readings? What did they suggest?
