Does anyone who has IBD - ulcerative colitis, know how famotidine will affect it? I have reflux, sometimes very bad, and just suffer because I choose that over uncontrollable diarrhea. But I know the long term problems with reflux and need some relief.

@jlmp - this - how famotidine would affect those with UC - would be an excellent discussion to start in the IBD support group on Mayo Clinic Connect, if you're so inclined. You'd go to the home page for that group https://connect.mayoclinic.org/group/inflammatory-bowel-disease-ibd/ and go down below the blue box on the top to where it says "Start a new discussion +" just a little ways down on the left side.

i have microscopic colitis and PPIs (Nexium, Prilosec) are known triggers. Thus my switch to Famitodine/Pepcid on advice from my Gastrologist. Does not trigger relapse of my colitis. But check with your gastro doc…
