I am scheduled to have lymph node transfer from the latissimus dorsi muscle and hopefully lymph by pass from one vein I have available in my arm. I had breast cancer, radiation and chemo 20 years ago and just developed stage 3 to 4 lymphedema in my right arm. I have been wrapping for six weeks before the surgery. My question is what will it be like after the surgery? I know I have drains put in and cannot lift anything over 10 pounds for six weeks but I haven’t been told about the amount of wrapping that I will need to do. Has anyone been through this lately?
