I have a serious problem with phlegm.
The only way I can get rid of this phlegm is by swallowing (gross).
This is constant. Is there anything I can do or take for this. I am so embarrassed by this. This interrupts my sleep, happens during the day, sometimes causing a choking feeling, happen al the time. My doctor here has given me a nose spray which does not help al all.
Any help would be appreciated greatly.

the only cough drops that really help are: Broncolin . Chloraseptic lozenges were used at the hospital & I use these too..For my coughing they used Robutussin..fyi
@randallshields56 Have you tried chewing cinnamon gum?
@laura1970 No I don't smoke. I have a low thyroid problem, arthritis and osteoporosis.
That is about it!!!
I am currently working with a Speech Therapist who does specialize in phlem and hyper salivation. I am using a blow mechanism and deep breathing every day, 5 times a day. And a special breathing mechanism along with deep breathing.
What she has adamantly said is that I swallow saliva and phlem. Continuing to couth is up only restimulates the mechanism that produces phlem. So I drink water to wash it down and don't ever cough it up or spit it out. I swallow it with water...use plenty of water every day.

1 ReactionGuaifenesin 1200 mgs 12 hr release. Requires 8oz water and sipping day. This is an expectorant that works very well.
