@mandyust21 I am 72 , have had asthma for years and when I was younger they gave you tons of prednisone when your asthma got bad. In the ‘90’s I developed secondary Addison which is adrenal insufficiency. My adrenals don’t work. I finally gave up and simply take 5 mg of hydrocortisone a day to function. I haven’t gained any weight. My doctor says that that amount is close to what the body would make in a day. Mine tests at .4. I am doing okay .
I recently went through a 7 hour back surgery, had no problems and didn’t have to be infused with cortisol.
Good luck everyone!

I've only been taking prednisone since about Feb. Started at 10mg, went
down to 5mg. I've been sick for over 3yrs, before any prednisone. I took
Benzo's for along time, then was taken off cold turkey. I think this is
what started it all.
