Being newly diagnosed (as I am) I would recommend getting the book by Dr. Keith McCormick called “Great Bones” so you can read about bone loss, causes, treatments, dietary recommendations, exercises to combat bone loss. Chapter 14 discusses each one of the medications, how it works, possible side effects, blood test that he feels are pertinent to having done prior to just placing someone on meds. You can read his story, diagnosed at age 45, has had 12 fractures and a very low bone score. Competed in the USA Olympics and competes in triathlons to this day. He didn't go on medication and has improved his bone health without them. The books a wealth of information. You can also go on YouTube and Google his name there are interviews with him as the speaker. I keep listening to him speak over and over and learning things I didn’t hear the first time.

I was also told to go on Reclast , but I am reading this book first, so I can make an informed decision.

@izziesue thank you so much for the information. I'll check him out, he can't be that bad since we have the same last name! Lol!
Thank you
