Wow!! I thought I was alone on this. Post-Covid I was already weakened, as admittedly I was a British Murder/detective tv series addict! Losing strength and weakened mobility to start. I got a back steroid injection in a spot I’d never had before. 2014 I had a L3-4-5 fusion, and the rest of my spine kept losing space between vertebrae. It was explained I’d get a cartical injection around my tail bone.
It was weirder than any other I’d received previously. As the steroid was pushed in, it felt like my right buttocks “inflate.” I told the team it felt different than any other spinal injection I’ve had. I had a tough time getting up and walking.
A day later, it was much worse. I was walking like Quasimodo. I started with a cane. Now, after a few rounds of PT, it’s still not back to where I was before that injection.
I found another doctor and continue treatment and physical therapy. I wonder if those nerves will ever heal.

@fncz When you wrote about your buttock feeling like it ''inflated'' I was taken back to my experience with this. I'd received several injections in my lumbar spine, sacroiliac joints and coccyx/tailbone, they didn't help at all but the pain doc said let's try one more area. So, they did. As I was riding home in the back of our SUV, my buttocks were supposed to be NUMB, but they WEREN'T and they felt totally inflated on both buttocks and down both legs down to my feet. When I told them what I felt, they looked at me like I had 2 heads (they obviously didn't believe me, and they'd obviously NEVER experienced neuropathy). The lower half of my body is a giant neuropathy, severe enough that I can only sit if I'm on ice, and laying down is painful, sheets laying on my legs hurt, long leg pants hurt and it keeps getting worse. I've had a spinal cord implant and peripheral implants in both buttocks, with maybe 30% pain reduction, if that, but life goes on, I've dealt with this condition since March 2015. Am on tramadol and lyrica, not impressed with lyrica at all, but tramadol keeps me ''sane'' (kind of).
