How fast does PSA drop after RARP

I’ve never heard of a PSA test done that quick. Someone actually asked this question a few months ago and no one had a PSA test done less than five or six weeks. Mine was done seven weeks after my prostatectomy.

At that point, it should be undetectable. Not sure about getting it so soon. If you do a check of AI you will find they say it should be 4 to 6 weeks, at least, before the test is done.

Is your doctor worried he left tissue After the surgery? That fast a PSA is really weird, and definitely unreliable.

Did you ask him why since it is not a standard of care?

Yes, it is highly unusual and I am wondering if doctor mixed up dates by accident , or something ?

There could be no possible reason to do PSA at 7 days. His PSA ,in the best case scenario, will be about 2.4 or little bit less. For 9.85 to become undetectable (0.01) he will need at least 4 weeks.

Maybe his doctor wants to see the trend of some sort ?

Our PSA test was scheduled for 12 weeks post op. but we could not wait to see results so we tested it at 7 weeks in a local lab.

I agree: ordering a PSA test before cathether removal is very unusual and does not make sense since it will take many more weeks for the baseline PSA level to go down. My surgeon ordered a PSA test from 8 to 10 weeks after surgery, and I plan to have mine taken abott 9 weeks after my surgery.
