@margesil I agree. And yet, chiropractic procedures for just about everything are approved without hesitation. Once I had a chiropractor shine some sort of low power laser on my forehead to address pain in my lower back. That's one of several reasons that I tend to shy away from chiropractors.

So the only suggestion I can make regarding chiropractors is to vet them very carfully & let your PCP be aware that you're considering getting this treatment. Like any medical professional, there are good/great ones and ones that shouldn't be allowed to practice, and downright dangerous. I was luck enough to get a great one to fix a neck problem years ago.
Acupuncture is a blessing- again, if you get a good acupuncturist. I'm considering getting it again but being retired, I have to consider cost. Difficult to get an appt. with my insurance provider for this treatment.

@heisenberg34 There was a time chiropractors weren’t on the “ paid” insurance list. Seeing acupuncturists beginning to practice from within hospitals. makes me hopeful that they, too , be seen for their effectiveness.
My husband’s colon cancer had spread to his liver, which we were told looked like Swiss cheese, and inoperable. After 3 months with an acupuncturist, the doctors were amazed by the improvement and resulted in being able to have ablation surgery at MGH. I believe it gave him 2 1/2 more years than doctors predicted.
