Have aches and pain in chest from GERD and Colitis. Tylenol helps

Posted by mikejjb123 @mikejjb123, Feb 10, 2024

I have GERD and Colitis. For years I would wake up to nausea. Now I wake up to chest aches and pain. Not my heart as I went to the doctor. Tylenol does help. Any ideas why this is occurring???? Thanks.

@jlharsh Of course I felt great as soon as I got to cardiologist. Running tests to make sure it is GI related. Thanks.

Was your cardiologist able to rule anything out at your primary doc and cardiology appointments?

What tests will be run to find a GI related cause of your symptoms and when will you have them?

Hi. Still going for tests. Already tested positive 4 years ago for gastritis? GERD, and have UC as well. Thanks for asking Mike

I wonder would you have Hiatus Hernia also? It may be worth checking. They can diagnose it with a Gastroscopy.

Thanks for comment. Yes, was tested and negative. funny, doctor was young and I told him a lot of doctors would have said yes to Hiatus Hernia to make $$$. I was impressed.

@cardigan I find Gaviscon liquid good for an inflamed esophagus.

Take Carafate. It’s a game changer- it’s prescription, comes in generic and can be taken 4 times a day. I get the pill(much cheaper than the liquid) and I melt in in a little warm water before taking.
