The Cardiologist put me om 80 MG of Atorvastin and 10 MG of Ezetimbe , its been about 18 months of suffering, I had no clue what was going on I cant get up my stairs without terrible pain, I cant walk a block without my calves and hamstrings burning my tendons in my knees and Achilles tendon and lower back are so painful it just feels like Burning...I cant travel, cant go to any events .. its tough to just get to my car and I had no clue what was going on i asked the cardio doc if these meds have something to do with me all of a sudden in pain and not being able to walk? he changed the subject, I went back 6 months later I asked again 3 times and he finally said well I think you have arthritis .. I am sure its these 2 medications, when they put me on this i was never in pain before.. i stopped 4 days ago, I do not feel any better yet, I read the other day it takes 2 weeks but now after reading on here I am worried I am not going to get much better and really worried and having anxiety that its taken me this long to discover what's damaged me like this.

Can you change cardiologist? I have changed providers when I did not think I was getting the care and information I needed.

Did your cardiologist put you on Co-Q-10 when he/she prescribed Atorvastin? It is known to cause muscle pain. Co-Q-10 is known to helped with that pain. It seems the statin drugs somehow affect the level of Co-Q-10 (comes from my heart failure doctor).

I am not familiar nor have taken Ezetimbe. Is that brand or generic? What was purpose? Have you looked up the side affects of Ezetimbe? If you look up statin you will see the mention of muscle pain. This usually goes away for many like me when taking Co-Q-10 but takes a while.

The mental stress of your anxiety is surely not going to help. I would seek to get a second opinion or see different cardiologist. Do you have access to a major medical facility that you could drive to? I used to drive 4 hours each way to go to Mayo Jacksonville as did not think my local cardioloigist had the expereince and skills for my medical conditions.

I now live 20 minutes away from Mayo.

@roderick1009 Hang in there. I suffered with statins for 2 years before my doctors listened and gave me their permission to stop. It took at least 2 months for the pains to get significantly better. Keep moving, use heat or ice, stretch. It should get better in time.
