Is there any medication to help my asthma go away?

Hi, @jenniferguajardo - having an asthma attack every time you go outside sounds rough. You might ask your primary care doctor, allergist or pulmonologist, but that doesn't sound like asthma control to me.

I used to have asthma flares about quarterly, especially when coming back from being out of town. I'd almost always have to go on a 5-day course of prednisone. That worked, but prednisone has its own side effects, like only sleeping about 4 hours per night.

What's made a difference for me was taking a biologic, mepolizumab (Nucala). I no longer need the courses of prednisone, thankfully.

Is a biologic something your doctor has talked about?

@lisalucier I was put on Methylprednisolone for 6 days. And she gave me a shot in her office. And yes she did mention I may have to do biologic shots. How often do you have to do your shots for them to help you? I see her this month on the 20th

@lisalucier My 28yr old son called me yesterday and told me he was diagnosed with asthma. I didn't get asthma till in my 40s. He passed out at work luckily someone saw him and helped him. Just wondering if u have any idea if he may get asthma as bad as me over time. He was diagnosed a lot younger then me. So I'm worried about his future health.
