Internal body vibrations all night
My entire body started vibrating internally 3 months ago (Feb 2024) at night. I take 300-600 mg gabapentin each night and it helps some. I’ve been blessed with incredible health my entire life, although I have had some neck problems (stenosis) recently, starting in Dec 2023; two TFESIs made it better. I am 59 yo and recent Air Force retire. I am fairly certain I don’t have any underlying conditions (diabetes, autoimmune, HIV, Lyme, etc). Rheumatologist doesn’t think I have autoimmune; getting a second opinion soon. Neurologist “can’t rule out SFN” so I just gave blood and have a nerve conduction test scheduled.
Q: Anybody have similar experience with internal vibrations all night long?
Sometimes I can feel them somewhat during day. If so, please share your experience.

Hi, Any update on your internal vibrations? I have been having internal vibrations day and night. They started in June of 2025. They are worse at night. The only thing that helps is gabapentin, I take 600 at night. It gets me through the night until about 4am. Then any dream I have with a stressful situation, I start to vibrate, like a panic attack. I try and do deep breathing to calm down.

Mine internal vibrations went away. But it took almost 18 months of misery. I discovered I had vitamin B6 toxicity in June of 2024, which caused it and other symptoms. It is a long, slow process to get it out of your system and heal.
@ppgej66
And yes, gabapentin was the only thing that helped me sleep, somewhat. I took 300mg every night. I am so glad to be off of it.

Hi! I had for 5 years these internal vibration especially at night. It all started after a panic attack and after many, many tests and specialists the conclusion was that everything is the result of undiagnosed anxiety.
I didn’t take any pills, I tried to improve/ solve this problem with nature walks, music, hobbies, breathing exercises, aqua fitness and learning to control my thoughts. It took me 5 years but i don’t have them anymore. Walking in nature while listening to my favourite music and breathing deep and slowly helped the most.
And also trying to stay away of other people problems that I couldn’t solve anyway was a solution. Care for your peace of mind and you will sleep and feel much better. Good luck!

2 Reactions@cst it helped but your stopped it? Dr’s always want to give this. I have seen others with side effects so I don’t want to
@coloradom Hi, I'm pleased to hear of your success with the Gabapentin. I have been having internal tremors and body vibration for about 6 months now, head and trunk and sometimes arms & legs.
Would you mind letting me know how long you had them before taking Gabapentin, and have they returned at all? Thank you.
@gertiel
I only had internal vibrations / tremors for about a week before I started taking gabapentin. It was every night, almost all night, thus, I could not sleep at all. My PCP prescribed. I took gabapentin from Feb 2024 to March/April 2025, then stopped even though I still had vibrations some. They have since gone away, at least 95%. Occasionally I feel them slightly.
@gertiel I had the tremors for more than 6 months before starting the gabapentin. It initially helped enough that I could sleep. Now it's just 100 mg in the am. It helps with the neuropathic pain. I still have very mild tremors that sometimes I notice are present or absent. Ive tried to keep the dose low. My mast cell inflammation is also slowly improving and I wonder if that's related. Im at about 15 months since covid and for me that followed a lasting inflammatory reaction to the Moderna vaccine. So about 4 yrs total.
@coloradom Thanks for your reply. I don't know anything about MAST Cell inflammation but good to hear yours is improving. I'm in the thick of many scans, tests etc to diagnose what's wrong with me. I live in Australia and we seem to be a way behind in seriously acknowledging Long Covid. I'm not saying that's what I have, but some of the symptoms seem to fit. My GP has agreed to give me a referral to a dedicated Long Covid clinic who are also involved in LC research. I also started Low Dose Naltrexone today, so will see where that leads. Good luck.
@cst Thank you for your reply. It's so good to hear some people are finding some relief from this torture. I've read quite a few people have been prescribed Gabapentin and Naltrexone at the same time, with some success. I'll raise it with my GP for her opinion. Started on Low Dose Naltrexone today. Good luck.
