@kjc48 I am in a very similar situation. I have taken over the finances, however, often my husband gets upset and says he is losing control of his accounts and that I took everything over without his knowledge. Well this is true because I had no choice. I do sit with him and do all the bill paying with him at the kitchen table but he doesn't remember that he was involved. It is very frustrating but we were getting past due notices as well or he was paying bills twice.

You are not alone. It is up and down with him but lately he has had some very tough days. I have found this blog to be helpful just knowing that there are so many of us in the same boat.

@sandyar Thank you for your note today; I'm a wits ends worried sick over all of this. I watched Billsvideos on this Mayo Connect last night (all three of them) and I have to admit, although I was more informed, the seriousness of our situation with care giving, finances, knowing when to tap into care resources, and what to expect in the 7 stages, becomes the stark reality of what we're dealing with.At the same time, I now have to decide what to do with my living situation since we've been in a hotel (mold in our house) and I'm at the crossroads of fixing it and selling. I appreciate your sharing about the past due notices and paying bills twice. Same thing here so I'm going to do what you are doing. Most are on auto pay so I'm trying to see what he's paying.
