I am an 81 year old Vietnam Veteran and believe I have as bad a case as one can have of Peripheral Neuropathy along with other conditions and borderline sugar diabetes!! I have 16 different doctor and none have been able to figure out how to help[p this old man!!!!
I also took Ketamine treatments (2) and no help at all!! There is anew drug still in testing stages Would love to be a part of- I think it is called DRL-271 but lost my notes!!! This terrible case has spread to my whole body and I have nearly intolerable pain 7/24. I am highly allergic to drugs also, so that does not help my cause. I do get a little short term relief when I used Sombra that you can purchase at Amazon, but does not last long and have to use on nearly all of my body. I have a little hope that maybe having big Pharma out of our lives now may somehow help- hopeful anyway!!!!

I ordered Sombra from Amazon and the first time I used it, it felt like my legs were on fire. I had to rub my feet and legs with cool cloths. Very unpleasant stuff.

I ingest RSO oil 3x / day, about 300mg either in cooking or in capsules. On bad pain days I can double that dose. But, I am also on Neurontin, Lyrica and Cymbalta. Good news on this is I no longer feel pain when I break out in shingles. I even broke my left big toe and it healed solid - never felt any of it.

@fred101 Sorry to learn of your plight. Have you been referred for either a spinal cord stimulator or a pain pump. Both require a less invasive trial to see how well it might help control your pain. There are lots of pluses and minuses to both, but it seems better to try something new at your age and your pain. I can empathize a lot. Vietnam vet here, age 77 with severe pain from neuropathy. I had a SCS that helped a lot for a couple of years. It stopped suddenly without warning, so I had a pain pump implanted. The pump has not helped much to date, but I keep having it adjusted in hopes of getting some relief. I wish you well...
