@ljchr What a great idea-concert night! I also have read that music appreciation is one of the last skills to go with dementia patients. I saw a video online called "Alive Inside" made by a social worker who worked to get a personalized playlist for an iPod with the help of the patient's family. The results were astounding. Patients who had retreated into themselves began to speak and sing again. I had forgotten about it until I read your post. Thanks for reminding me.

Thank you for your comment - my husband doesn't know what day it is, but he can sing to almost all of the songs we play. I know in my heart that if he ever forgets who I am, the music will bring him back to a good place. His eyes light up when I tell him it's concert night.
