Ok, back home. First off, my hat is off to those that had that type of biopsy. I really didn’t enjoy it, give me a colonoscopy instead. I know, different stuff.

I don’t have too much to go on. I have a meeting on the 24th after the tissue is analyzed.
One thing of note, he said my prostate was 4 times normal size. I thought I heard a ‘120’ in there, don’t remember precisely. I just wonder if that size means anything itself? I google the extra large prostate & see ‘BHP’ mentioned a lot.

He said he got good sample coverage, good images, now I’ll be backing off to an MRI or one of the other blood tests for a while. Hopefully my bit of recovery goes ok.

A large prostate gives you a high PSA without it being prostate cancer. BPH is an enlarged prostate, sometimes it is caused by an infection, but it causes urinary issues like the following.

Frequent urination, especially at night
Difficulty starting or stopping urination
Weak or interrupted urine stream
Dribbling at the end of urination
Pain or burning during urination

Antibiotics can reduce the size of the prostate and the PSA. Four times normal size is close to 120cc and that could be the whole cause for your PSA of 20.
