Can you please explain how the insurance situation unfolded? Does a diagnosis automatically take them off the policy?

@dig2dye2
Hi, after my husband surrendered his license, I called our insurance company to take him off our policy.
I'm not sure if that is the case for everyone.

@dig2dye2 When my husband who has Parkinsons developed seizures. That was it. Thank God. He ran into the back of the DMV bldg. several years ago. We noticed his vehicle and he acted like it was no big deal. He stopped on green lights and was angry when I said " We are going to get rear ended". He did not know where his neurologist office was. Got in the car and I found out he drove down a street to nowhere for him as he turned around. They are very prideful and taking their drivers license away is the end of the world. We went into a convience store and he hit the accelarator instead of the brake. I got hurt. Bruises were more painful then anything else. I thought my ribs were broken.
Two years ago he stared having seizures. First staring and looking lost. Then 2.5 years ago he has Covid. The same thing but he had soiled himself. The next year he had grand mal/ petit mal seizure. Liscense was gone for good. I have hidden my keys for years as well as his and I parked behind him. Early in the year his precious truck was sold. Now my keys will never be found. I made sure that the insurance company knew he was no longer on the policy. Because he won't turn in his liscence we have to pay more. I feel for all of you ! Stubborn and stupid to boot. I have empathy.. but this is to much. My Dad had Parkinsons and he drove for 6 years without a liscense. I live in a different state, when he was hospitalized I looked a sure enough it was expired. I let my siblings take care of that one as they should have noticed he was paronoid and he thought his bank was stealing his money. No, the IRS was garnishing his wages. My brother hasParkinsons. He surrended his license. He is in Hospice. Ladies beware and take care.
