Yes any pain med, muscle relaxer or nerve medication diminishes movement of your gut. I have severe lumbar arthritis and some nerve compression and they wanted me to take Neurontin 300 and possibly Increase to 600 three times a day but after just taking 300 once at night I was stoned and didn’t poop for a week and couldn’t feel myself urinate at night so all I take now is neurontin 100 mg with my 100 mg of Celebrex every morning at 7:30 am and I take fish oil, tumeric, R Alpha lipoic acid and osteo biflex at 12 noon each day for the arthritis pain. Oh I use volteran cream to. My gut is so slow, and I was on linzess and miralax and magnesium too when I tried the big dose of nerve med. All said I do a very ripe pear with spinach, kiwi and prune juice smoothie with Splenda two times a day and you can eat this pasta called Carbe diem pasta, gotten from Amazon . I cook it for 20 min, longer than recommended and I put Parmesan cheese salt and pepper in it. It’s pretty good actually. It very high in fiber. All this helps when I don’t go with just the Linzess, miralax and mg. My husband ate some of this pasta and he has a gut opposite from me. He’s been known to poop middle of the night, LOL! Well needless to say he tried this pasta which has a lot of fiber and he stayed on the commode all day and was washed out! It doesn’t affect me and he was dying! Ask your Dr if eating stuff like this is ok. It works for me with my meds but if you can’t take any meds try strict diet. Express your concerns about all this to her/ him. Being right isn’t worth your life. Surgery with an obstruction, well think about it. If you cut into an intestine with hard rock poop you can cause infection from the feces all over into your abdominal cavity and become septic. Look up sepsis. Can kill you quick.
