Triple positive breast cancer

Posted by trinhttt @trinhttt, Jul 13 10:35am

I hear a lot about hormone positive BC but not a lot about Triple positive breast cancer. Does anyone in this group have triple positive breast cancer that can give me insights on the cancer itself? I didn’t have compete response to my treatment of TH.

Yes, I had triple positive. I had taxol and a year of herceptin. Now on AI for three years and counting. It is an aggressive cancer but highly treatable since all three components have effective medicines.

Did you have lumpectomy and radiation as well?

Yes, was dx in 2019 with triple positive. Did surgery (lumpectomy) with clear results, 6 rounds of TCHP chemo, 30 radiation treatments and have just completed 5 years of AI (Anastrazole). Very good options available for treatment of this type.

@shaunaab wow thanks you the story. I had a mastectomy and my regimen was only TH. I didn’t get complete response so had to be on kadcycla for 14 rounds. I had clear margin but wasn’t one of the lucky one to have complete response. Your story is inspiring to keep looking forward and fear nothing. Thank you!

Happy to help! I finished my 5 years of Anastrazole three weeks ago but am considering staying on for maybe two more years. They are now saying that two more years provides as much benefit as being on for an additional 5 years so I feel like that benefit would be worth it! I was 56 when I was diagnosed. My Oncologist has been incredible and at a recent appointment told me to live life as if I'm cured which is a wonderful sentiment but of course it's always in the back of your mind. But I feel great and I'm hopeful!

@shaunaab so glad for you. I hope to be like you, and of course, fighting everyday to not let negativity runs my mind. It helps when I pray though. 🥰
