My new Bololo is arriving today! If you are using the Bololo, why do you guys boil your stuff occasionally? Do I need to?

I use the Bololo and don't boil in addition. I checked the temp in the Bololo initially to confirm adequate temp and feel ok with mostly just rinsing equipment before I put in. In addition, Faulkenham says Mac doesn't grow well on the neb cup he tested and it's one of harder germs to kill. Caveat-I don't have MAC and have little sputum, therefore, don't worry about reinfection. I'm not sure if I'd be more careful if I did.

I think its important to clean devices of sputum or other fluids before sanitizing it though. If I'm having post nasal drip and coughing that out, like this a.m, I soak it in soapy hot water then rinse in hot water. More often, I rinse it thoroughly.

The one thing that bugs me a little about the method is that there's no way to close vents for storage. At first, I put paper towels over them, but have stopped.

It seems to me that people read the information, listen to the various talks and figure out their system and tend to change as
we go along. I love the Bololo partly because I don't like handling so much boiling water. Good luck! Hope you love it, too!
