@swalex Autoimmune Diseases: I have 4 autoimmune conditions. No one else in my family has any, going back 2 generations on both sides of my family. They include MS, Grave’s disease ( thyroid), Sjogren’s Syndrome, Addison’s Disease of the Adrenal gland. In answer to your question for adrenal gland insufficiency, I take Hydrocortisone three times spread out in the day. 10mg in the morning, 5mg @2 pm and 5 mg@ 5 pm. Yes, I still get extremely tired mid afternoon, which can only be helped with an afternoon nap.
They also prescribe Fludrocortisone..
Also have severe osteoarthritis which makes it painful to walk.
I hope they get more understanding of Autoimmune Disorders.

@normajean77 Thank you—that's very interesting, especially how you divide the 20 mg of hydrocortisone into three doses. How often do you have your cortisol levels tested? Have you ever undergone a catecholamine test?

It really makes me wonder how many people are living with undiagnosed autoimmune or hormonal disorders, simply because they’ve never had comprehensive diagnostic imaging—such as a brain MRI to evaluate the hypothalamus and pituitary, thyroid scintigraphy to detect nodules, or an MRI of the adrenal glands.

When it comes to autoimmune conditions, I believe research should take a more holistic approach by investigating the entire hormonal system—particularly why T4 levels are often elevated, potentially indicating hormone storage or conversion issues.
