Help with walking.
Hi everyone!
This is my first post! I am only 44 and living with really bad back pain. It’s gotten worse over the last few years and the mri showed degeneration of L5-S1 part of my spine. I have tried back freezing to see if I would be a candidate for ablation and cortisone I have also tried celebrex and naproxen. I go to physio, chiro, Osteo, massage. Any tips would be great! Thanks

@laura1970 so sorry to hear that.i got the scaring from surgery when I was young on my lower spine.i was diagnosed with it in 2010.i have done good with it until now.i starting having trouble with my left foot.my foot flaps the floor when I walk but I am 72yrs old and it really hasn't bothered me. I don't have pain real bad i feel like I have been lucky.It affects everyone different I just wished they would do more research on it. You are the only one that I heard of having it.
@joycecamden check out this site. Unfortunately Dr tenant passed away. I have been trying for 5 years to find a neurologist with experience in arachnoiditis without success. If u find one, please let me know

@laura1970 nope I haven't found one.I went to rehave yesterday my right foot won't raise when I walk.
@joycecamden Do you think a drop foot brace might help that foot? I have a friend who wears one to keep him from tripping. Just a thought.
@joycecamden I have a right foot drop as well. If PT isn’t helping they may Reccommed an orthotic
@laura1970 yes she did mention that and she is going to get the Dr to sign off on it so the Medicare will pay for it.How long have you had foot drop.?
@htolan yes the therapist is going to see about getting me in one.
I hope it helps. Good luck.
@joycecamden
It's called AFO ankle foot orthotic. Medicare does cover it. Wore one for awhile, but stpped some time ago. If you have odor eaters in your shoes, you should put one on the AFO to pad it. You might be limited to the kind of shoes you can wear. It will also need to fit into your slippers if you wear those.
Thanks I'm so glad that Medicare will pay for it and I sure hope that it works.
