@katz1 Aside from paying out-of-pocket for a DEXA, you can request that your doctor file the form that indicates that a DEXA within a shorter time frame is medically necessary. I've done this a few times and always been approved by Medicare. The repeat time frame for me has been six months.

@katz1 Hi, My doctor let me know that the cost of a Dexa is about $100. I didn't want to wait so went ahead and did it. It did actually cost $100 last year here in California. It's worth checking with your health system and see what they charge out of pocket.
