@cwal, I have been using an Acapella for the past 18 months with great success. I was intrigued by the comments on the Aerobika I read on this site, so I got one. But the plastic used for the Aerobika really bothers my sinuses and triggered the growth of some nasal polyps. Acapella does not do that at all. I now use Acapella only. I just nebulize 1 vial of 7% then 40 breaths on the Acapella morning and again in the evening. I also do a minimum of 1 hour of cardio daily now, at a challenging speed, which helps me complete my airway clearance. My lungs feel good, really good. 2 weeks ago, I reduced the number of breaths on the Acapella to just 25 twice daily, because I had way too much work and needed a break on AC time and after a week, I felt I neeeded to go back to 40, I then I expelled colored mucus for a few days, until it all cleared. It definitely works for me. For each breath on it, I try to blow hard and long, the longest I can. There are even rare days when I blow 80 breaths on it in the evening just to see if more comes out. There is no discomfort. And it is effective for me. Best wishes of great health to all of us!
@cwal several medical supply companies sell the Aerobika and don’t require a prescription. Might be a more readily available resource instead of going through eBay. I believe the manufacturer suggests replacing the device every 6 months. My doctors don’t stock or prescribe it so this is the route I go.
