irenea8... I had my lung function test yesterday and there was dramatic improvement since January. I've been taking Brinsupri for 5 weeks and noticed a decrease in mucus and lightening in color. My pulmonologist was thrilled and shared that another patient (an older patient with 30 year history of BE) had similar results. The doctor discontinued Azithromycin, since it seems Brinsupri does the anti-inflammatory work. I still have ciprofloxacin and tobramycin on hand, ready for the next exacerbation, which we expect in the fall and winter seasons. I was having exacerbations every 11 days since January.

@egayle187 , So good to hear that Brinsupri is working for you. How long did you take azithromycin before you stopped? I am also on it, but after I started Brinsupri I am wondering if I should stop it too.
Hope you continue to do well.

@egayle187 So glad to hear this news for you. Overall that is such good news and one I am glad to hear for many reasons.
Do I understand correctly, the exacerbations for you have lessened?
So hoping this is going to be an outcome for most on Brinsupri.
Remarkable and wonderful for you "dramatic improvement."

@egayle187 Irene -
Did you with your insurance plan and pulmonologist have any trouble getting approval for the Brinsupri for you?
Was it prescribed by a local pulmonologist at a Center of Excellence?
