Triple positive breast cancer
I hear a lot about hormone positive BC but not a lot about Triple positive breast cancer. Does anyone in this group have triple positive breast cancer that can give me insights on the cancer itself? I didn’t have compete response to my treatment of TH.

Hi! I also had triple positive(initial diagnosis). I completed the 10 rounds of the “standard of care” treatment of THCP. Then had a post treatment MRI that discovered a 2nd tumor (HER2 and estrogen positive but progesterone negative, same breast but different spot.
Official diagnosis:
Invasive ductal carcinoma of the left breast, int grade, T2N0M0, ER positive (8/8), PR+ (5/8), Her2 Positive (2+, amplified by FISH)
Separate tiny focus of ductal carcinoma in the left medial breast, T1aN0M0 ER (8/8+), PR negative, Her2 1+
I chose a bilater Mastectomy. In addition to both breast they took 1 node. The node came back clean but I still had residual. Since my decision was at the 11th hour I had to defer starting reconstruction.
I immediately started Kadcyla (my husband calls it chemo lite). As I have not had any issues while taking it. Hair is growing back nice and full, taste buds are back to normal and my strength is building every day!!!
I am also on Anastrozole for 5 years. I did start taking gabapentin for joint pain and that was the winning drug for me!!!
Cancer is not a death sentence!! Stay positive and keep your body healthy. Do what is right for YOU! We will all have a different experience. I found it helpful to not read a lot into what Dr Google had to say. You can find way too much negativity.
I am a 62 year old female… started round two in November 2024. Just got my expanders a month ago and I am living life!!!
Schedule to participate in the Susan G Komen 3 day (20 mile/day) walk in August.
Be strong and know you can do those things you want and need to do!!! Tits up

7 ReactionsThank you for your response. Your treatment is THCP even without lymph nodes. I didn’t have lymph nodes but was only given TH. Sometimes I wonder if I was under treated.
Correct. I was told it was the “standard of care”. I attempted to get into the Flamingo trial but since my 2nd tumor was not triple positive I was not accepted. It might be worth looking into to.

Thank you for your inspiring story. I am 52 this year and have 3 kids. I try my best to think and stay positive yet sometimes I can’t bear the thought of not being able to see them grow and my heart just feels heavy. I will take your advise and take one day at a time. 🥰
@cjs123172
I have triple positive lobular cancer. Did you have radiation as part of your therapy

No. I only had chemo. I also had a double mastectomy.
I had only a lumpectomy because of my age I’m 84 surgeon was concerned about anesthetic I’m in chemo now hopefully it will be a good outlook
@kedisaacs thanks. I pray nightly that mine has been cleared and that Jesus has protected me from this disease. 🙏🏻❤️
