@meghansa65 Yes, 20 years. All of the disease is the thyroid cancer. For the most part, he's been able to live a fairly normal/active life. Other than during surgery recoveries or the first couple of weeks of Lenvatinib treatment, he has been able to continue working (farming). Don't get me wrong, it's been a struggle for him at times, but he's been able to keep on most days, just maybe a bit slower.
At the time of diagnosis, he was sure his time was limited. I kept telling him, especially after the discovery of a tumor in his head, that until they tell him to "get his things in order", we have to keep pushing forward with hope. Easy for me to say, not being the patient, but I couldn't let him spiral. In more recent years, if there's a new finding or growth of existing tumors, he's ready to face it head-on.
Here is a link to a post I made back in 2022. It summarizes what he'd been through up to that point. https://connect.mayoclinic.org/comment/786926/
My husband's care team for the Lenvatinib treatment has been tremendously helpful.
I hope you have the same support, whether it be from family or medical professionals.

@bfrank thank you very much for your time. Just reading that he has this cancerand survived for 20 years encouraged me to be more positive. I pray to Gud that he will give me more time to be around with my daughter and my grandchildren. By the way, does your husband having a hard time sleeping? I have that problem. Once again, i really appreciate your reply and praying for both of you ,too, and all others who have the same diagnose.
