@heyjoe415 Just read this from the hospital website. ROSA Knee System: The ROSA system assists surgeons by using robotic technology and specialized software to enhance precision and personalize the procedure.
CORI Surgical System: The CORI system, another robotic-assisted technology, uses a 3D model of the patient's knee to help the surgeon with optimal implant placement.
Surgeon-controlled: It's important to remember that these systems are tools controlled by the surgeon, not autonomous robots. The technology provides enhanced precision but is still directed by a skilled surgeon.

Hey Cindy - this is an excellent summary of how robotic assisted TKR is done. The surgeon controls the cutting arm. The software, using the 3D model as a guide, will only let the surgeon cut the areas identified to be cut (usually osteophytes). As bone is removed, it is cleared on a screen the surgeon is looking at. The best part of this is that it prevents the accidental cutting of a tendon or ligament, and only cuts as much bone as necessary.

"Robotic" is misleading. It's like the surgeon is outside having a cigarette while a robot does the work. Software or 3D-assisted are better terms. Branding is a problem for these companies.....
