Has anyone experienced back pain with Tymlos?
I have started Tymlos recently. So far I am only doing 3 clicks. I know doctors and the Tymlos folks do not want us do that. Also the injections are to be given only in the stomach. There are other sites for subq injections. Tymlos and doctor say only inject into stomach.
Regarding the clicks, I plan to slowly titrate to full dose. My decision. I know a lot of people are doing this.
The main question I posted was back pain. Has anyone experienced that with Tymlos? Thanks

@harryboy7 it doesn’t say only in the stomach I gave you the website to look at it. Everybody here knows that does this regularly that you can do it in a variety of places. I don’t know why you’re arguing about this.
Since you are only injecting in the stomach it is possible that your back muscles are tightening and going into spasm as a reaction due to injecting in your stomach. Try different areas that would be the smart thing to do.
@gently you are always “gently” for a reason. Did you see him write anything about his thighs? I didn’t. And here’s the thing I supplied the website where it gives ALL of the places injectable! I see no restriction. And if he has something personal going on, he has no right to make others think that they can’t do it in a variety of places that dis or misinformation. You can simply anyone can simply google where to inject TYMLOS and AI will give you a whole host of options. And the website itself that I posted the link as well. I don’t care that. He’s a former nurse. There’s absolutely no information anywhere that says one needs to restrict their injections to the belly. If they did, I’m sure most people wouldn’t inject the medicine as it’s very painful. (at least my belly is the worst spot, but I do it just to keep it in the rotation.) under my arms I can’t really reach because of my cervical spine surgery and it is also very painful cause I don’t have enough fat there. His backache could be due to the fact his stomach muscles are tensing up and they are pulling on his back muscles. And what about the tie trading up?? of course it’s not recommended to titrate up! But that doesn’t mean that we don’t use discretion and contact the manufacturer and our doctors and make adjustments. As you well know, there’s a whole host of people who would also have given up on the medicine if they couldn’t titrate and build a tolerance. I ended up being one of those people. I understand of course why it’s not recommended and the website is clear about their recommendation. That is done for liability purposes and to not deviate from what they’ve successfully studied. So I understand why it’s not recommended. However, one’s doctor should be consulted and it’s up to us as a community to offer the option by which a patient can inquire of their doctor. That was how I was able to titrate. It is another thing that one can find easily on the Internet. Terri, I hear your wisdom, I reported the post because I thought it was misguided and people are injured so easily by other people‘s words. He was so adamant. I just don’t want people to be fearful of options which may help them. Makes sense?
And PS I did call!
@taraneh64 I am not in California. I am in Utah. When I called Tymlos, I talked to someone in the education department. . I asked for a medical person. She said there were no RN's, Np's or doctors. I even talked to their Pharmacist. I felt they were clueless. They couldn't answer any of my question.
I still continued titrating. Even though they say not to do it. I understand about the injection SubQ sites. When I was working as a floor Nurse, I gave a lot of Lovenox (Enoxaparin) shots. You are right, there are some people are skinny. So even though They (the company) say stomach. There would times I used other sites for the patients comfort.
I would like to suggest that everyone take a breather. It seems to me that both are saying the same thing but in different words. Listening to each other might solve the problem.
@loriesco Sorry if I came across being negative. I know about other sites to give the shot. I thought only the belly was ridiculous. I too went on google sites. I got a mix of things.
I felt I needed to go the Tylmlos and my Endo for information. I am not saying people are wrong. in what they are doing.
@loriesco, I don't think Harry would be bragging about his thighs here.
of course, I believe that you called the manufacturer's line where Harry too called and he talked to a completely different (ly, trained) agent.
I take all my Forteo injections in the thigh, the same thigh, the one closest to the frayed hip joint to remind the drug that I need chrondrocytes.
Sometimes package inserts don't change as quickly as they maybe should. There sure is a lot of information on the internet that research has diabused us of.
I don't always do what my doctor says, and I suspect you don't either, but I think Harry should.
@gently I think I’m understanding that Harry didn’t mean what he wrote and by short handing what he wrote it left it open for misinterpretation. He wrote. “ So far I am only doing 3 clicks. I know doctors and the Tymlos folks do not want us do that. Also the injections are to be given only in the stomach. There are other sites for subq injections. Tymlos and doctor say only inject into stomach.” so in my possible misinterpretation and with your clarification.(I’m presuming you’re having conversation behind what I can read.) that Harry is not suggesting that this is what WE do he’s just declaring it’s what his doctors have him doing and he’s not recommending that is what we do. In fact, TYMLOS does not advocate for stomach only injections, and TYMLOS would take a subordinate role if a qualified doctor recommends titrating for a patient experiencing difficulties for a limited amount of time. I think Harry was just trying to communicate what he was doing so that we could comment on his back pain and that was the only reason he was sharing at all. It’s still disinformation to say that TYMLOS says only injected in the stomach.” I don’t want people to be confused. That’s my only intention.
@harryboy7 sorry I’m not the person with the comments as per your post.
