@lkirnbauer my doctor recently started me on Levo because my thyroid levels were normal so she started me on a very low dose but I did have to get it adjusted so she put me on 25 mg I do go back in October to see if I need to have a larger dose I could every 6 weeks and get bloodwork my doctor has been very helpful with that. It’s been very difficult for me to get advice expect for online groups because I’m the only one in my family currently that has hashimotos. My grandma had hypothyroidism but she passed back in 2015.

I would guess that you will eventually be testing positive for Hypothyroidism, as it is hereditary. Your doctor should be instructing you on what to do. I would also eliminate eating gluten, dairy and soy products, as they cause inflammation in the body. I’ve been eating this way for over 2 years and it’s made a huge difference. I have Hashimoto’s with Hypothyroidism.

@meganpeters013 Good that you’ve already begun the Levothyroxine. You might be experiencing the hot/cold symptoms now because you may have Hypothyroidism and are fluctuating back and forth from hyper to hypothyroidism. You medication will need to be tweaked while this is happening. You may also want to have a food sensitivity test done to see what foods are affecting you. I have given up eating gluten, dairy and soy for my Hashimoto’s and the body bloat is gone. I also suffer from Long Covid and have no taste or smell, which helps with the food elimination…but I sure would love to get that back as it’s been almost 3 years (December 2022).
