Why does life seem hard anytime you get it right?

I find that a lot of times things do NOT go the way I plan. In fact, that is the norm. I can look back however, and see that some of the things that I planned would have resulted in circumstances or situations that would have been worse. I have to try and relinquish my control over the things I have no control over, which is most everything except my reactions...even my reactions are hard to control at times. Letting go of control is actually kind freeing. I have had so many "hits" in the last several years. Terrible hits, actually, none of which I had any control over. I just try and stay in today. If I am feeling sad or depressed, I am usually thinking of the past. If I am anxious, I am usually thinking about the future. I can do nothing about the past and I have no idea what the future holds, so telling myself to do what is in front of me, today, is helpful.
