Experience with Knee Megaprosthesis after Osteosarcoma
Message:
Hello everyone,
I am reaching out to connect with others who may have gone through a
similar journey.
I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma and completed surgery and chemotherapy in
2025. A straight rod was implanted in my leg, which means I cannot bend my
knee. Thankfully, my doctors have confirmed that I am now cancer-free.
Recently, they suggested a revision surgery with an artificial knee joint
(megaprosthesis) to restore mobility.
I would like to hear from others who have had this type of surgery:
How was your recovery process?
Were you able to walk normally again?
Any challenges or advice you would share before undergoing megaprosthesis
surgery?
Your experiences and guidance would mean a lot to me.
Thank you,
Nawaz
