My Magtein Magnesium L-threonate is 2000 mg per serving. A daily serving is 4 . I never noticed that on the bottle before. I only take one a day. Occasionally I have diarrhea that stops with 2 Lopiramide.. So each pill of Magnesium contains 500 mg.
Yes, I have received magnesium infusions for my idiopathic neuropathy and for me it has helped tremendously. I had severe foot pain from my neuropathy recently and it was so bad it sent me to the Emergency room. There they did some blood work and diagnosed me with a magnesium deficiency. They gave me an infusion there at the hospital and I felt like a new person. So for me, it felt great.

Hi @runnergirl, I take magnesium 400mg daily as part of my supplements. I'm not familiar with magnesium infusions but have read information that they are helpful for chronic pain which I think would include idiopathic neuropathy since it could fall under the umbrella of chronic pain. I was not able to find other members discussing magnesium infusions for neuropathy but hopefully some who my have tried it will share their experience. Here's some information I found that may be helpful.
@cadenz hi! I am taking 400 mg magnesium capsules at night to help me with my sleep but I wasn’t aware it also help the neuropathic pain. If anyone has more info about that please share. Thank you !

Possibly, I didn't take it long enough. I bought a bottle before checking the correct dosage. The suggested dosage is 300 or so and my bottle was 700mg. I quit taking it because videos said that was a dangerous amount. I had thought about splitting the capsules. But for the two weeks or so that I took it, I felt no difference in helping me sleep. This was several months ago. I have now developed neuropathy, so I might consider that more now. I wonder why a company would sell a product that was not the correctly accepted dosage.

@corneliagd
Frequency of cramps in my calf and foot reduced considerably after I started taking magnesium.

@sbelur how much magnesium are you taking per day?
Totally about 500 mg Magnesium Glycinate per day
Topical magnesium oil might also be beneficial.
You can get magnesium citrate/glycinate in liquid form on Amazon. I'm going to switch over to that as soon as I run out of capsules.
