@chrisdietrich I will be finishing up two years of Tymlos in March. After that, the plan is to take alendronate (Fosamax) for one year to preserve gains. Then we take a medication break, with annual DEXA scans to monitor. I've been doing nutrition and exercise all the while.

For people who still need further bone building after Tymlos, Evenity for a year is one possibility.

FYI, I started this journey at -3.3, and this past January I was up to -2.0 (osteopenia.) It's probably even better now.

I wish we could say "take this for two years and then you're good to go", but that isn't the reality. 🙁 Unfortunately, if your bone loss is severe (-3.3, say), diet and exercise aren't going to be enough.

@njx58 Thank you, this has beeen very helpful! Due to 2 factures they want to put me on the Tymlos, I guess I am considered high risk. My plan would be very similar to yours (2 years of Tymlos then maintiance drug for a year) since I am 66 and very healthy. The diet and exercise is the easy part for me. I am an ex professional athlete and still race bikes at a elite level. All the best, I would like to hear your progress through out the next year!!!
